The Weinland Park community is situated just east of the primary connection corridor for the university and the downtown area, while there are two north-south bound streets that dissect the neighborhood. During a charrette with the community many of the residents of the neighborhood work jobs for either the university or downtown area, and need safe and adequate pedestrian access to work, as well as other amenities in the neighborhood and surrounding context.
